CRITZ RELEASE TECHNIQUE

The Critz Release Technique utilizes soft tissue releases designed to restore balance to the musculoskeletal system naturally. Several modalities are used such as Positional Release (PRT), cross fiber friction, myofascial massage, classic Muscle Energy Technique (MET), and energy touch release. It is NOT a chiropractic manipulation.

MET engages the client to contract (with minimal pressure) muscle groups that are shortened, against therapist resistance. This process when repeated, resets the resting length of the shortened muscle, thus improving range of motion. In PRT, the therapist pulls or pushes tissues to ease pain while a cross-fiber motion for about 90 seconds softens them. The tissues are then reassessed.

The client is fully clothed as the protocol sequence releases and balances both lower and upper body restrictions that may be causing pain. The goal is to get the client to ZERO PAIN.
